Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center joins RSB to decarbonise maritime industry

The Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, a Danish not-for-profit, and independent research and development centre, has joined the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) as part of its active strategy to accelerate a net-zero future.
Since its inception in 2020, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center has made exceptional efforts towards modelling a future with sustainable marine fuels, partnering with over fifty cross-sectoral stakeholders to launch ambitious decarbonisation projects, including RSB members NORDEN, TOPSOE and TotalEnergies. This partnership with RSB will provide welcome support, particularly when it comes to meeting the certification needs of maritime fuels.
By becoming a RSB member, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center now has access to innovative and highly-collaborative industry initiatives that are driving the transition towards a net-positive world, such as RSB’s new Sustainable Marine Fuel Platform. As part of this platform, the Danish non-profit will work with other leading organisations in the maritime industry to address sustainability issues in marine fuel, engage with regulators, and advocate for consistent and robust sustainability practices. In addition, the Center will join over a hundred of other organisations to support the continuous development of RSB’s sustainability framework – the world’s most trusted and credible approach for advancing the biocircular economy.
