RSB Platforms
Through RSB’s member platforms, our multi-stakeholder community comes together to develop new knowledge and guidelines that will advance the bio-based and circular economy by:
- Developing expertise and solutions on the most relevant topics and technologies shaping biocircular economy development.
- Sharing wisdom in a pre-competitive space to raise sustainability ambition and action together.
- Shaping revisions to the RSB standard and certification system to provide a continuously developed model of best practice.
Review our membership platforms below.

RSB SAF Policy Platform
The RSB SAF Policy Platform is a place for RSB’s members – from industry to civil society – to work together, discuss and provide recommendations on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) policy. We focus on how to implement and ensure sustainable practices within the growing coverage of legislation to regulate SAF production and use.
The RSB SAF Policy Platform is a place for cooperation, engagement and knowledge-exchange that will drive the emergence of a truly sustainable bio-based and circular economy based on the use of SAF.

RSB Book & Claim Platform
The RSB Book & Claim Platform is a cross-sectoral initiative for members and invited stakeholders that seeks to strengthen the RSB Book & Claim System, and thereby accelerate the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors (i.e. sectors for which the transition to net-zero is technologically or financially difficult).
This new platform will support RSB’s work in developing and promoting a robust and credible book and claim model that drives faster and broader decarbonisation across multiple sectors, such as shipping and aviation.

RSB Sustainable Biomass Policy Platform
The RSB Sustainable Biomass Policy Platform is a cross-sectoral membership platform that brings together industry, civil society, academia and other engaged stakeholders to navigate the complexity of the biomass policy landscape.
With a focus on primary biomass feedstock, the platform is further a place to collaborate and co-create informed and effective positions – grounded in sustainability best practice – to support policy-makers to achieve consistency and ensure that the full potential of the bioeconomy is realised for both people and the planet.

RSB Sustainable Marine Fuel Platform
The RSB Sustainable Marine Fuel Platform is a RSB initiative that will focus on the key sustainability topics affecting the transition to sustainable marine fuels, driving engagement with regulators, and advocating for a robust and consistent sustainability approach.
This new RSB platform is a place for RSB members from the shipping sector, relevant fuel producers, and stakeholders from non-profits and non-governmental organisations to work together, discuss and provide recommendations on how to drive the emergence of a truly sustainable bio-based and circular industry based on the use of sustainable marine fuels.

RSB Power-to-X Platform
In response to increasing demand and market interest in Power-to-X (PtX) technologies, RSB hosts a platform to convene stakeholders and experts to evaluate and agree on best practices to address and reduce sustainability risks related to PtX technologies, particularly for the aviation and shipping industries.
While the RSB Standard for Advanced Fuels includes an approach for Renewable Fuels from non-biological sources that could be applied to PtX technologies, it is important to assess, understand and mitigate potential risks that are involved in any new technology.

Sustainable Airports Platform
The Sustainable Airports Platform is an RSB membership initiative that offers the opportunity to collaborate in developing and exchanging knowledge on sustainability and the role of airports in the growing SAF economy.
The initiative is linked to ALIGHT, an EU-funded Smart Airport project led by Copenhagen Airport and comprising 16 European partners, including RSB, that aims to develop best practice solutions for including the supply, integration and use of SAF and smart energy at airports.
