RSB hosts civil society stakeholders in Nairobi to foster partnership that advance the just transition in the bioeconomy
We are proud to announce that later this month, RSB and BioInnovate Africa will be hosting an exciting networking event for sustainability organisations in the region at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.
East Africa presents unique opportunities to make gains towards mitigating climate change and developing a bio-based and circular economy. It is vital that these local organisations are part of this transition, so as to ensure that it is just for all and that communities within Africa lead part of this movement – strengthening Africa’s position in the future world stage.
The ‘Fostering Partnerships for a Just & Sustainable Bioeconomy in East Africa‘ event will be an excellent opportunity for sustainability organisations in the environmental and social space to meet the RSB team, hear about our activities in Africa and the Global South, and learn about the latest developments from RSB members BioInnovate Africa and Solidaridad. The event will also include spaces for networking, bringing organisations in the region together to discuss their own interests and areas of overlap.
The sessions include:
- Keynote address
- Dr Mary Njenga (CIFOR – ICRAF)
- Presentations on the bioeconomy opportunities in the region
- Panel discussion on civil society and its role in driving the just transition
- Tour of BioInnovate Africa facilities at Icipe
