Dr Abubeker Yimam

Dr. Abubeker Yimam Ali — Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering, Addis Ababa Institute of Technology

Dr. Abubeker Yimam Ali is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Addis Ababa Institute of Technology, where he specialises in biofuel systems, process engineering and sustainable energy transitions. With a PhD from Stellenbosch University, he has held several leadership roles, including Dean of the School of Chemical and Bioengineering at Addis Ababa University (2016–2022) and President of the Ethiopian Society of Chemical Engineers (2016–2018). His international academic engagement includes a visiting professorship at the University of Toulouse and ongoing work as a local partner for EXERGIA, Climate Change Consultants. Dr. Abubeker has served as a board member and technical advisor to various governmental and non-governmental bodies focused on biofuel and sustainable aviation fuel development, contributing to policy shaping and technical standards in Ethiopia and the wider region.

He has previously served as RSB Chamber 5 Delegate.
