In Memoriam: Pedro Scorza

RSB has learned with sadness of Pedro Scorza’s passing last week on 28th April 2022.

Pedro as a wonderful and cheerful family man, a source of constant optimism, and a generous friend who loved people and the planet. He will also be remembered for the legacy he left behind in which he made significant contributions to the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biofuels sectors in Brazil, and worldwide.

Pedro was a pioneer.

As the Director of the Brazilian Union of Biodiesel and Biokerosene (Ubrabio), he carried out the task of promoting the production of SAF in the country, through the formation of public policies and support for the structuring of the SAF value chain. At Gol Airlines, he was responsible for planning and implementing policies and actions aimed at establishing the SAF value chain and supplying renewable fuels for aviation and renewable energy sources. Reporting to the CEO, he was also commander of a Boeing 737NG.

Pedro’s passing is a great loss for all of us. He was a strong supporter of RSB, and was committed to the vision of a bio-based and circular economy. We will miss him dearly – his passion, his insight and his friendship.
