A note from RSB on our response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

As the world adjusts to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to let you know a little about how RSB is responding to this new crisis. Like all of you in this amazing community of sustainability professionals, our team are used to working under pressure to solve big problems. This unprecedented moment will challenge us all to find ways to work together to continue to advance the case for real sustainability and to ensure that our resolve to build a better world is strengthened.

We know you’re juggling a lot now – starting with ensuring your health and that of your families, teams and communities – and that establishing new ways of working in this rapidly evolving environment will take time and commitment. All of us at RSB are committed to supporting you and your vital work through this challenging time.

RSB is in a way fortunate that we have operated as a global remote team for many years and are able to continue to support you as usual with information, partnerships, business development, advisory services, and marketing support through this time. Of course we will continue to assess the situation for our staff members as the situation evolves, but at present we do not foresee major changes in the way we work.

We are looking to provide you with more virtual opportunities to engage, share and learn through scheduled webinars and other opportunities. We would appreciate your ideas on other ways we can support you too!

On a very practical front, to ensure your uninterrupted ability to build your sustainable supply chains we have developed an interim RSB guidance in terms of the audit schedule and COVID-19 outbreak. Ensuring the health and safety of all people/staff involved in RSB audits is a priority, and in line with the RSB principles. Therefore, this guidance covers the conditions under which the RSB allows CBs to change audit schedules and/or to perform remote audits, considering travel restrictions due the coronavirus.

If there is any other way in which we can assist you or if you have any ideas you may want share with us all, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
These are exceptionally challenging times but together we can support each other and from this crisis, emerge stronger and better to tackle global challenges, from COVID19 to the climate crisis, food security, natural loss, to our shared vision of a net positive world.

The entire RSB team wishes all of you around the world good health.
