RSB’s team in the time of coronavirus: Carolina Grassi

RSB’s global team are used to working remotely, but we are all making adjustments to respond to the changing situations we find ourselves in. With team members in 8 countries we thought we’d take the opportunity to introduce you to everyone and let them tell you a bit about what they’re working on and how COVID-19 is affecting their everyday lives.

Carolina Grassi, RSB’s Business Development Lead – Latin America, based in Brazil:

In Brazil we are in the initial phase of the Coronavirus’ infection curve. Today we have around 6000 cases and several preventive measures have been adopted by the government. We are not in a complete lockdown but schools, universities, shopping malls, restaurants & pubs are closed.
Studies have shown that most of the Brazilian population, 60%, are in isolation at home. I’m lucky to have my family with me facing this challenge and establishing a new routine! One of the most impressive things in Brazil is its biodiversity and, even isolated in my apartment, from my balcony I have the opportunity to see several species of birds including parrots, toucans & some raptors, which is a gift for a biologist like me!
At RSB we continue working remotely, as usual, and we have the flexibility to adapt our work time to the new routine! Together with companies, governments, NGOs, we are 100% focused on supporting the bioeconomy, acting on the present and preparing for a sustainable future! Similar to the strategy adopted to deal with coronavirus, we are also acting to flatten a curve, but the curve of global consumption and natural resource use, aiming at creating a sustainable economy!
