Karyn Jones

Karyn Jones has served as Director of Sustainability at Gevo since May of 2022. At Gevo, Ms. Jones leads a team of sustainability experts focused on lifecycle analysis, soil health, climate smart agriculture, sustainability, low-carbon fuels compliance, SAF decarbonisation strategies, and carbon accounting/markets.

Ms. Jones holds a BS in Environmental Science from the University of Minnesota and has over ten years of experience in low-carbon fuels auditing and consulting under the RFS, CA LCFS, and OR CFP. Before joining Gevo, Ms. Jones worked as a Senior Regulatory Consultant at EcoEngineers, a consulting and auditing firm specialising in low-carbon fuels and decarbonisation strategies. She developed a first of its kind Quality Assurance Protocol (QAP) under the Federal Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). As a sought-after subject matter expert in RFS and LCFS programs, she analysed the viability of innovative low-carbon technologies, developed compliance programs and/or regulatory engagement strategy for over 100 biofuel projects across 12 countries.
