With our extensive network of stakeholders from across the industry, NGOs and UN organisations, the RSB is well placed to assist with the development of policy as well as the implementation of projects and operations at local, regional and national level.
Working through partnerships we use our technical and strategic expertise to assist organisations and governments to incorporate the principles of our world-class sustainability Standard into projects of all kinds. Projects that work with biomaterials can also benefit from RSB’s support through capacity-building and technical support, helping to ensure their long-term sustainability.
We work in partnership with a range of stakeholders and often in coalitions of government, industry and NGOs.
Contact UsWe work with partner organisations to carry out assessments of the amount of sustainable biomass that can be produced in a given area. Our Sustainable Biomass Framework allows for the development of future scenarios that take account of likely impacts of climate change and human development.
Contact UsWe help you understand the global sustainability principles of the Standard and how they can be applied for policy and regulation in a national or regional context.
Contact UsWe work with governments, business, NGOs and academics to adapt the RSB standard to national, or regional conditions. We have developed RSB indicators for the USA and work is ongoing in Mexico, South Africa and Queensland with stakeholders to develop indicators that are adapted to the national context and facilitate implementation of the RSB Standard.
Contact UsWe train extension workers, NGO staff and consultants in the RSB Standard and sustainability principles via workshops, or remote training.
Contact UsWe work with agricultural extension organisations and NGOs to build the capacity of smallholder farmers and help them prepare for RSB certification – using our specific Smallholder Standard which facilitates certification for groups of small farmers.
Contact UsThrough our partnerships with NGOs, governments and other policy groups, the RSB Standard and RSB technical advice has informed and developed policies worldwide. Here are some examples of our work together in action:
Our unique Standard ensures that water access is protected – for both producers and communities.
On Boeing’s 100th anniversary, South African Airways (SAA) celebrated Africa’s first sustainable biofuel flight. The flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town, operated by a Boeing 737-800, used biojet fuel produced from Sunchem’s nicotine-free tobacco plant Solaris, refined by AltAir Fuels, and supplied by SkyNRG. Sunchem and SkyNRG are both RSB certified, and AltAir is in the process of RSB certification.
