Jayant Sarnaik, based in Pune, Maharashtra, India is founder member and joint director of the Applied Environmental Research Foundation (AERF), a conservation NGO. He has been active in the field of sustainable biofuels since 1998. In the early phase of his involvement, he along with his colleagues successfully developed and piloted indigenous technology for complete treatment and recycling of wastewater from molasses-based ethanol distilleries. He holds the Indian patent for the same. About 10 years ago, he started looking at sustainable utilisation of native oilseed species for decentralised production of biofuels in the Western Ghats – a biodiversity hotspot. For his concept of mainstreaming biodiversity for sustainable biofuel production, he received the IUCN’s practitioner fellowship in conservation and sustainability. He is currently engaged in smallholder certification and industry uptake of the RSB standard in India.

Laxman Neupane, is the Manager for the Centre for Empowerment and Development (CED) Nepal based in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur, Nepal. He joined CED Nepal in 2013 working for the Governance, Human Development and Sustainability Program, and promotes sustainable smallholder biofuels in Nepal.

Liisa Ranta is a Sustainability Manager at UPM Biofuels Development, based in Helsinki, Finland. She is responsible for sustainability and regulative matters related to different biofuels development initiatives.
Leonardo B. Rosario is a development manager with more than 30 years professional experience in project development and management, sustainability auditing and participatory action research, among others.
Ellie Wood is a Regional Director of Environmental Strategy at Boeing Commercial Airplanes, where she is responsible for developing and executing sustainable aviation fuel projects and engagements in North America and Asia Pacific.
