An additional certification for non-energy products derived from biomass.

The RSB Standard enables producers and users of biomass, biochemicals and bioproducts to receive RSB certification to demonstrate responsible practices throughout the supply chain.

It applies to producers of biomass-based products of a variety of types, including, but not limited to, biochemicals, bioplastics, compostable/biodegradable tableware, cosmetics, nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, and feed.

The RSB is currently revising its RSB Standard for the Certification of Bio-products. It enables producers of bio-products to receive RSB certification and demonstrate responsible practices throughout the supply chain.
The proposed revisions include:
• A new section on calculating GHG emissions and on GHG emission reduction thresholds
• Clarifications on bio-based (carbon) content thresholds
• The option to use a mass balance system for the bio-based input to processes and supply chains
• Specifications for communication and claims
You can access the draft revision of the standard here.

Comments are now closed and we will publish the revisions soon.

Please see more information about the revision process here.
