The RSB is partnering on an exciting new initiative with WBCSD to promote and support the development of sustainable biofuels which provides a unique opportunity for RSB-certified operators to engage with investors and policy makers. The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in partnership with the RSB and SE4ALL, are launching next week a unique collaborative initiative on Low Carbon Fuels called below50 campaign.
below50 is a global collaboration of forward-thinking companies that aims to grow a global corporate market for the most sustainable breed of low-carbon transport fuels. This collaboration is the only global initiative bringing together the entire value chain and policy-makers to create demand and deploy the world’s most sustainable transport fuels. The collaboration is designed to:
* Increase the number of companies choosing below50 fuels
* Create inter-sectoral B2B opportunities throughout supply chains
* Demonstrate below50 fuels make good economic, social and environmental sense
* Address legislative and financial barriers to source below50 fuels
The collaboration is quickly taking shape. This is your opportunity to get on board and be part of a ground-breaking initiative. 13 companies are already part of the collaboration, such as LanzaTech, SkyNRG, DuPont, Joule Unlimited, DSM, Novozymes, Copersucar, Audi, Clariant, Pannonia, GranBio, Red Rock Biofuels and POET.
If you are RSB certified, you are qualified automatically to join this initiative. Only companies that show supporting evidence to produce (e.g. RSB, FSC, SAN or BonSucro certification), consume or invest in fuels with, at least, 50% less GHG emissions compared with traditional fuels can join.
Being part of below50 gives the opportunity to join several regional roadshows, like the below50 investors roundtable in London, and the policymakers and business event in Brazil and China, but also work on innovative tools to share best practices, create public-private partnerships, educate policymakers and foster business opportunities for members.
The group is mobilising to launch a global campaign in San Francisco (Westin Hotel) at the Clean Energy Ministerial 7, June 1st.
